Kim Loughron is an energetic and prolific artist with a disability who I mentor once a week.
She also attends the Art for All Abilities sessions I facilitate at Span Community House in Thornbury.
Kim loves making art and does so much of the week. As she says: “I can do art all day. I really get in the zone!”
Her latest creative focus is collages; using upcycled magazines and wooden supports. Her works are dense, engaging with most of the surface, allowing the eye to wander and discover more about the composition as you look.
Kim is currently having her first solo exhibition at:
Glimpse Art Space
273 High Street
Northcote VIC 3070, Australia
Go see her beautiful Shrine to Collage – it’s running until 25 August 2023.
