Level Playing Field 2018 is the 4th iteration of an annual arts project which I have been running since 2015, based on my firm belief that we are all artists.

The project involves people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds having access to the same materials, techniques and colour palette (the same set of rules) to each create a unique, quality artwork.

The 2018 edition comprises a series of facilitated social art-making sessions, held between May and August 2018.

Participate in a group session of between 2 and 10 people, organised at private homes, community centres, businesses, etc.

The completed artworks are then shown in the Level Playing Field exhibition at the iconic Stephen McLaughlan Gallery in Melbourne in September 2018, with an opening to celebrate.

Update: November 2018

Philosophy

Level Playing Field is a wonderfully inclusive and inspiring arts project celebrating self-expression and demonstrating how we are all different but socially-connected artists.

This project provides opportunity for connection across cultural background, age and ability. It accepts all participants as equal and deserving of the title of artist.

You can find out more by watching the Level Playing Field 2016 video below, or explore a gallery of the 2018 workshops as the sessions progress.

"It's a great exhibition - fantastic to see all the work en masse. The diversity was wonderful - and inspiring. We're spreading the word."

"You managed to tap into my very buried creative soul!"

"Love what you are doing and the lovely way in which you gently encourage us to have a go."
